Seven years ago, I suffered a traumatic brain injury. Throughout my difficult journey to recovery, I went through several experiences where empathy, compassion, and care were lacking. At my lowest point, I found Dr. Paul Harch, who took me on as a patient. His treatment was the turning point for my recovery. While in his care, Dr. Harch informed me of many toxic products, deodorant being a huge offender. At that point, I immediately stopped aluminum-based deodorants.
Little did I know where this journey would lead me. It was only after years of trying several "non-toxic" deodorants that I became beyond fed up with the industry. I experimented for two years to create a deodorant that was TRULY non-toxic and aluminum-free.
I didn't set out to start a brand, but once I finally created the perfect formula, I knew I wasn't alone in the struggle with deodorant options out there. So, I created True Friend as a statement that we have your back! I learned that an ounce of care goes a long way, and this industry is in need of a genuinely real friend.

After being a faithful user of a not so "secret" brand of deodorant for years. I knew I needed to try something new when I started getting large painful lumps deep under the skin of my armpits. I had no proof that it was my deodorant but what else could it be?
